Introduction

Dick Brave is actually the alter ego of German pop/rock singer Sasha, who performed as Dick Brave between 2003 and 2005 as part of the neo-rockabilly group Dick Brave & The Backbeats. Sasha was born as Sascha Schmitz in Soest, Germany, and by the time he was in high school be was already leading his own band, Junkfood. Schmitz eventually signed with Warner Music in 1998 and released his debut solo album, Dedicated To..., under the name Sasha that same year. The mock rockabilly Dick Brave project began as a joke in 2003, but the Dick This! album took on a life of its own and ended up hitting the top spot on the German pop charts that same year. The group was always intended as a one-off… but Dick Brave & The Backbeats are back with their latest release, Rock ‘n’ Roll Therapy, and the Rock ‘n’ Roll Therapy Tour 2012!
